Booked a GP appointment at Lerwick Health Centre today, earliest pre-bookable appointment is in 5 weeks, and that is not with my first 2 choices of GPs (there were none at all with them). Every time I phone it is always 5 weeks to see a GP, I have fed this info back to NHS Shetland before and still get the same standard answer of staff shortages.
5 weeks is the norm now and it's not acceptable, especially when you are asked to see a GP before medication runs out or after a test. When is NHS Shetland going to review this problem and implement some changes?
