Have very mixed feelings about the level of care I received. Delivered my baby girl last October at Kings. Had to be induced in the end, the contractions came on quick and violently, felt like none of the midwives listened to me. Was just asked if I wanted paracetamol for the pain.
Finally was given the epidural hours later.
When came to push was only told that it was a back to back labour. No one ever scanned me or checked or told me this until it was too late. The epidural didn’t even work when I was pushing. I wish I was told earlier so I could have been given options. Instead in ended up in a screaming match with the midwife to get a doctor and my refusal to push anymore. Thankfully I was cut and Ventouse used and she was out in 10 mins. If I had just agreed with midwife and didn’t listen to my instinct god knows what would have happened to my baby. Overall I am traumatised by the birth and have so many questions.
A midwife made a joke after it was all over about how much I was screaming the Day before.. yeah because I was in pain and offered paracetamol!
