Our son was admitted to QA via ED in a semi conscious state from his Uni Halls of residence . He quickly became extremely unwell and arrested in the ED . Thanks to the quick thinking of the medics from ED / ICU our son’s life was saved - he was literally dying at the point he was helped. A diagnosis of meningococcal meningitis B was given a couple of days later. As a result, our son also had bilateral strokes.
Our son received outstanding and exemplary care by all the paramedics who brought him in, ED, ICU Medics, nursing, physios, Acute Neuro Team and all the therapists on the neuro rehab ward for which we are so grateful. He’s making an amazing recovery and will hopefully return to University in September.
Our son would not be with us without the prompt interventions of brilliant HCPs.
"Outstanding and exemplary care"
