"Awful practice "

About: Poverest Medical Centre

I really don't see the point of this medical practice existing as you can never get an appointment, you are constantly told to go up the hospital. I thought the whole idea of being registered with a doctor was so they could treat minor illness & aliments, not clog up the hospitals with problems the doctors should be dealing with. Maybe you should do away with surgeries and everyone should just go to the hospital, the doctors and nursing staff could then work at the hospital instead. I really would not recommend this surgery to my worst enemy. Poverest medical centre will yet again ignore all the bad reviews and will not bother replying to any review, they can't even be bothered to reply to complaints made directly with them.

Thank you for your feedback regarding appointments and we are sorry to hear you have had difficulties in accessing our services and are so disappointed with our Practice. We are fully aware of our access issues and this is regularly discussed with all our clinical and non clinical staff and with our patient group. The practice has increased clinical appointments however demand far outstrips capacity especially during the winter months, currently the practice provides per week over 500 GP appointments, 160 Advanced Nurse Practitioner appointments, 110 Practice Nurse Appointments and 50 HealthCare Assistant appointments plus specialist services. The practice does suffer a high number of missed appointments which also affects access, in the last year the number of missed appointments was 1,129.00, we are working hard to bring those numbers down to help eleviate appointment availability. In terms of not replying to complaints we are unaware of any complaints not answered and have nothing outstanding at the present time. If you didn't receive a reply to a complaint we sincerely apologise and would encourage you to resend your complaint for the attention of the Practice Manager Mrs Karen Kelsall, you can send a copy to the practice directly or email the complaint to our generic email address of BROCCG.PoverestSurgery@nhs.net and we can look into any complaints you may have.
