I have spondylosis - wonky spine and slipped disc. It affected me had a sort of stroke. Am fine from the chin up not affected my brain. Was in Barnet Hospital discharged in December to go home alone, I have no family. They gave me a key safety thing - didn't work, useless. Their enablement team have been shambolic told them to leave. no aftercare thought about was mainly on my own.
The the OT department from Edgeware sent Jenny who is marvellous, have just finished my last session with her.
I am coming on well, learning to walk again, I can manage the stairs slowly. Can't have a bath or shower- afraid of falling or slipping but I manage with a wash down as you do.
Friends are bringing me ready meals, I don't eat much though.
I have three walking frames that I don't use but no one wants them, no one wants to reuse them. It's a waste. It's a shame.
I do feel quite alone now my sessions have ended. I have no family. I will miss Jenny, she is not allowed to give me her phone number but has given me the number for the neuro centre, they can help me.
My own surgery is worse than useless, can never get through. Once you do the staff are lovely though.
I will plod on, it's what I was taught to do.
I am 87.
