"Blanking patients"

Recently I called the GP around 11-12 and was told that this is too late and that there is no appointments left. While I was packing my stuff I heard that some lady had the luck and they gave her the appointment but I wasn’t arguing and very calmly asked them why the patient got the appointment but I didn’t. The receptionist said that apparently someone called and that’s how the lady get the appointment but ok. I was told I have to ring at 8 the next morning to be booked in. Well, I have called them since 8 till 11 and got prove for 60 unanswered calls. So why don’t they pick up? I read the reviews and it’s not only me who had the problem. I’m very disappointed. Because of this surgery being unable to see me, I had to visit the walk in centre and just found out that I need to be hospitalised.

We are sorry that you are unhappy with our Practice. I cannot comment on why someone else received an appointment without knowing any further details. As does happen it may have been that this particular patient was referred back to the practice via NHS111 or the A&E Department in which case we do accommodate as required.

In response to your not being able to get through to the Practice via telephone. We have a high number of telephone calls and have the technology to log how many of these calls are answered and we can assure you that we are answering the telephone. Additionally we are in the process of recruiting more reception staff to cope with the demand.

We are sorry that you needed to be hospitalised and would like to meet with you to discuss this with you are your future care needs.
