"New repeat prescription ordering system"

About: The Flowers Health Centre

(as the patient),

For about 6 months now I have been receiving many items each month from my repeat prescription list that I have not ordered for the coming months needs. But I am now also not receiving some items that I have requested.

My pharmacist says the items not recieved may have been stopped as a repeat items by my GP practice because of the the length of time since I last ordered them. The GP system does not seem to realise that having already recieved many items that I have not requested give me a surplus of these items in my medicine cabinet, thus I dont need to order them again until this surplus of unrequested items have been used.

So I now have to chase my pharmacy and GP practice to try to unravel the mess and missing medicines I need but am no longer being given.

I receive free prescriptions. What a waste of NHS money this is, giving me unrequested items month after month at a time we are all being told that our NHS is in funding crisis. Not to mention the inconvenience to a patient with long term ongoing health issues including heart problems and copd and the immense frustration and difficulty this situation is causing me.

Should we now just order every item on our repeat prescription list and discard the surplus that we do not require?
