"Frustrating"

About: Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Moorfields saved my sight and offer the best chance of the best surgical outcome.

However, should you go here you must understand that after surgery if there are any problems you will have to go to A and E and wait. This hospital meets the 4 hr target but no more than that and you can normally expect to wait the full four hours, even as a post operative patient. You will see whoever is on duty at that time and appointments with the doctors actually looking after you will take place only at the original intervals. No assistance is provided if you are on your own and if you go to the toilet you may miss being called. Recently I had to go back for something else. I needed more information about my proposed treatment and couldn't get an answer (at all) until I made a formal complaint. This made me feel that I am just a number. The engaging publicity has not matched my experience, apart from the surgical quality itself. All in all I have experienced clinical skill but not much compassion or communication.
