"Exceptional quality of care from all staff"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Breast surgery

(as the patient),

I had surgery, a lumpectomy and lymph node removal for breast cancer. I received exceptional quality of care from all staff involved, but particularly from the theatre staff and the anaesthetist Dr Aldridge. Because of a pre-existing heart disease, every attention to detail was made to ensure I survived surgery without any adverse effect. In theatre before surgery all staff were very caring, friendly and reassuring.   After surgery, Dr Aldridge very kindly contacted my husband to let him know I was ok. I was kept overnight for monitoring on Hatton ward an HDU surgical ward, where again I was looked after very attentively. The following morning I received courtesy visits from Mr Aldridge, Sandra a member of the theatre team, the Breast care nurse who gave me advice on post-operative care and the surgeon Mr Nair. All of this went a long way to making this experience less scary and unpleasant than it could have been.
