I attended for a copper coil fitting, nurses were generally ok, reception staff were nice, however the doctor and nurse that treated me were generally insensitive and rude. Had the coil fitted the doctor was rude and kept shouting at me even though I was terrified and the nurse wasn’t reassuring. Once fitted the coil the doctor just left giving me no explanation or review. The appointment felt rushed. I didn’t even know what coil I had fitted I knew it was the copper coil but had no idea i would have it for 10 years! Even after insisting I only wanted it for 5 years! Additionally I was left with no dressing, sanitary towel or gauze, left to bleed. I had to get a bus and travel back home. Being in agony was bearable but bleeding out ruining my clothes along side was even worse and humiliating! I had just enough money for my bus, but not enough for any sanitary towels from the shop. I didn’t bring anything because I assumed they would provide me with something! I didn’t even realise how bad this was until I spoke to other people about their experience.
