"They felt more like friends than my carers"

About: King's Mill Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I was really ill in 2019 because my Gall bladder ruptured. I was on ICU in an induced coma for 4 weeks & spent another 10 weeks on ward 32. I was under the care of Mr Villatoro.

Mr Villatoro & another surgeon saved my life. Mr Villatoro saw me nearly everyday whilst I was in Hospital. He & all his team were really kind & caring. They did all they could to make sure I was kept informed. Mr Villatoro made sure my recovery wasn't rushed & always made sure my time with him wasn't rushed.

The Nurses & Care assistants were fabulous. So were my Physiotherapists. They pushed me when I needed it & shared my joy when I showed improvement. They felt more like friends than my carers.
