My GP referred me to Medefer Virtual service on 21st Nov. No one contacted me, although I was 4 weeks pregnant with a lower abdominal pain not related to pregnancy, so I contacted Medefer on 29th. They then said a consultant referred me to an outpatient clinic the day before. They said I would receive a letter in 2-3 weeks time for the hospital appointment. I received a letter of saying I should be seen in outpatient clinic as urgent for assessment and Medefer to organise but after nearly 2 months I haven’t still received any letter from Medefer for my appointment. I am now 13 weeks pregnant and my midwife said they cannot do any checks at this stage anymore. I have now concerns whether this issue causing the pain will cause any problems also with the pregnancy or labour. That’s the worst care I received. Medefer is a private company promising to help NHS on efficiency and the way they work is very disappointing. I would have seen by NHS much quicker especially considering I am pregnant. I love NHS, I have always seen very wuickly when the matter was urgent. I am sure NHS pays lots of money to this private company for the service they cannot even provide.
