"Coil replacement"

I went into the gyne ward about  6 months ago to have a consultation about having Marina coil replaced. Having explained to the doctor that I had an excruciating time having the original coil fitted and asked if I could have this done under a local as I suffer from vaginismus causing the muscle to clench so having anything done down there is horrendous. They completely dismissed me and said it wasn't that bad and that it could be removed there and then. I was completely shocked as I wasn't prepared and would have had someone drive me due to the cramps. The next 40mins was absolutely dreadful. I basically cried through the whole thing in horrendous pain clutching onto the trolly....never known pain like it. Doctor when finished just got up and walked out. I couldn't even stand up straight and had to ask for pain relief....just got given paracetamol. Doctor was dismisive. I've had problems since and now found out the coil was never fitted properly and wasn't to be used as a contraceptive! Thank goodness I didn't get pregnant. I now have to go through the whole process again and I'm terrified. I will demand a local this time but I'm so angry about the doctor who had no care or consideration. Honestly scared me.
