"Constructive criticism"

About: University Of Bristol Dental Hospital

As a patient of the student Restorative team, despite some suggesting a risky activity?I have only very positive feedback.The care and "VIP" treatment super.However,as students are learning their craft,i feel obliged to offer some constructive criticisms.My intention isnt to get any individuals into trouble,far from it,but maybe a general word of warning?During moments waiting for a supervisor,or other gaps in proceedure,some of the "idel chat"about the course,other fellow students,missing lectures,etc,to my mind shouldnt be aired in front of patients.Working well with your assistant,and not being tounge tide and setting a relax atmosphere,i understand,cool.Maybe worth reminding all students,of all years,try to stay "on duty at all times".Again i hope this isnt directed to any individuals,but i was able to over hear,the suggestion,any private dental practice,would have superior aquiptment,to any NHS set up.And for me,more concerning,during another idel chat,that a supervisors advice was "lacking?"was it a woman?that will be why!To be honest,i have recently lost alot of my trust in UK polotics,and am super concerned about about our natioal treasure the NHS being broken ever harder.As a student teacher,back in the day,i understand,having challenges/cricisms with the system.But its made me feel uncomfortable,that only on this out of the norm occasion,these students didnt seem greatful,for their great opportunity to be learning,in the greatest place on the planet,to learn.Sorry rant over.I have every faith ,both these yougsters will grow into super good Dentists,and in my humble way,hope i have helped them on their way.These short years ,will be passed before you know it,you are in such a special,privalaged place,good luck,respect to you all.Sorry for moan,but i feel better for my words of warning,take care.
