On Monday 6th January, I was referred to the Eye Clinic with a detached retina and within 2 hours I was in surgery, having undergone all the necessary preliminary assessments.
I would like to thank the surgeon and his whole team for such marvellous treatment both on that day and the next when I needed follow up treatment for raised intraocular pressure.
The excellent medical care was at all times accompanied by good information and caring nursing staff.
I know that a detached retina is a medical emergency but this surpassed all my expectations.
I would also add that I asked to be referred to the James Paget having previously observed the way the Ophthalmology Department looked after my husband and other patients having cataract surgery in 2018.
"Amazing treatment and care."
