"reassurance and help"

About: Citizens Advice Sheffield / Sheffield Advocacy Hub

(as a volunteer/advocate),

Mr X is now ready for discharge and to go home, he is really pleased with the Advocacy Hub and the help received to reach this discussion with discussions with the doctors.

The advocate spoke at informal meetings on his behalf because he felt that as he was no longer being detained he was in a place and well enough to go home.

We helped with the discussions and did a full risk assessment which was discussed by all parties and had a good outcome.  he is now going home but wanted to the thank the hub.

Also while in hospital he was worried that on Christmas day and throughout his stay his dietary requirements wouldn't be met but with the help of the advocacy hb we spoke with the housekeeping and staff on the ward and he was reassured that there would be an Halal or vegetarian option for him.

Hello,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback about your experience working with your advocate. I am so glad they were able to support you speak at meetings and to help prepare for your return home. It is great to hear that you were reassured that you would have meals to meet your needs.

It's really wonderful to hear that you are ready for discharge. I have passed your feedback on to all our advocates, and they all really appreciate hearing that we were able to help. I wish you all the best on your return home.

Best wishes,

Danielle
