"Pre op assessment"

About: University Hospital Aintree

Had 3rd pre op assessment.Waiting to have kidney stones removed. If the urology ward manager had kept me in hospital in August they could have been removed. They are all the way up one renal track.I was offered a choice of going home the same day in pre op assessment although consultant said I would have to stay in overnight.1st excuse was they didn’t have a piece of equipment in theatre then 2nd no radiographer. In fairness this reason is honest and it’s my health.Ward manager on ward didn’t even give me a diet sheet so spent 4 months on low iron low protein diet.I hope they don’t discharge me to early because I use a wheelchair.I need this surgery but not looking forward to it.Nurse would change dressing or help with urostomy bag.youre spoiling it for great nurses in the preop assessment unit who are thorough and work incredibly hard.
