About: Borders General Hospital / Maternity care

(as a parent/guardian),

Our son was born at the Borders General hospital in December 2019. We felt that the whole staffing team in the labour suite and ward 17 treated us with kindness and a high standard of care.

In particular the midwife (Joan) who attended the birth was outstanding in her care and skill. On the ward, the senior midwife (Claire) reassured us first time parents and gave us valuable tips and advice.

This was the first time that my wife had been to hospital and she felt confident in the care provided to her.

Congratulations on the birth of your son. I am pleased you felt you and your wife had the support from our staff in Labour Ward and Ward 17. We aim to provide person centred care and I will provide this feedback to all the staff, especially to Joan and Claire.

It's lovely to recieve such positive feedback and we are grateful for you to take the time to share you and your wives experience, especially as this was her first time staying in hospital.
