"First class care"

About: Luton & Dunstable Hospital

My GP referred me for an x-ray in the main imaging dept, on the day I was seen within 15 mins of my appointment time. The radiologist was very helpful and had my x-ray checked whilst I waited. He then told me I had a fracture and advised I attend A&E. On attending A&E the streaming nurse booked me in and had somebody check my x-ray. I was seen very shortly after booking in (perhaps this was because it was "The Q word" due to it being Christmas Eve and nobody wants to visit A&E on Christmas Eve). My broken toe was strapped and the charge nurse explained to me that there was not much that could be done for a clean fracture of the 5th toe. This charge nurse was very friendly & informative (even before he found out that I am a staff nurse). Well done X-ray & A&E.
