I am a cancer patient suffering from Myeloma so have to be vigilant with my health as I am on chemotherapy. After a couple of days of difficulty breathing had no choice but to ring 999 at 3.30am on the 29th December, as I was gasping for breath and choking. Ambulance arrived very quickly. 2 amazing medics. Nebuliser set up straight away and ECG etc. Stats quite low. More treatment then taken to Major Trauma. Met by staff nurse immediately who explained what they were about to do. Bloods taken IV antibiotics given and a drip set up. Lots of care and attention. All very calm and efficient. Doctor seen next morning. X-ray arranged and carried out quickly. Pneumonia diagnosed. Told being kept in for observation, due to low stats. Moved to cubicles. Seen by two doctors told I could recover at home. Waited ages for antibiotics and steroids. Discharged at 1.30pm. Felt as though I was treated very well and confidently. Very polite staff.
