"NHS borders emergency services"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

I fell down the stairs and split my head open after a few drinks on Hogmanay . The ambulance men Steve and Daniel were brilliant, both so patient and kind. Really non judgmental after such a silly thing to do. They called and asked nurse practitioner Andy to come and see my wound which he stapled in my house so I didn’t need to go to BGH. They must have been with me for around 2 hours. I can’t fault the service I received and I am really thankful to all 3 of them for their help and professionalism.

Dear liberatorpp65

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and feedback on CareOpinion. I am sorry to read that you had a fall and split your head open. What a way to end the year! I hope that you are on the road to a full recovery and are feeling a lot better.

I am however really pleased to read that all who attended you were professional and caring. Being non-judgemental is really important and can be really hard particularly on nights like Hogmanay so it is really great to get this feedback. I will pass your feedback onto the local manager and ask that the crew gets thanked.

Thanks again for taking the time to share this and all the very best for 2020.

Kind Regards

Alan

Dear Liberatorpp65

Many thanks for sharing your experience, even if it was not how you planned your Hogmanay. Glad to hear about my crew and our Advanced Paramedic Andy who put his skills to use and prevented you a journey to hospital where I can only assume would have been very busy. However, it was also good of the crew to recognise that there was an alternative pathway of treatment available.

I will pass on you thanks to all three as requested.

kind regards

John
