I had limited exposure to the NHS as I only had very minor ailments. I fell pregnant so I needed care. I live in a fairly remote area and my care was handled by a midwife led community unit. I was sceptic about it as I am used to doctors check up with assistance by midwives. However I did not need to worry. I was taken well care of and it felt individual care was provided to me. All questions were answered and check up provided. Pre-natal classes were run and useful. It could be improved by adding a bit more information for some of the potential procedures which could happen during labour in hospital. Advise about the various options of giving birth was available and discussed which was very helpful due to the remoteness of the place. Postnatal care was very helpful and encouraging. My baby is healthy and so am I. Thank you to all the midwives who took part in my journey to motherhood.
