"Replacement Knee operation @ Borders General Hospital"

About: Borders General Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics (Ward 9)

(as a service user),

The knee replacement surgery was a long awaited operation as I was in considerable discomfort. I had been rather nervous of going in to hospital being aware  of the huge stresses and pressure the NHS so I was expecting a hurried basic service. To my utter joy every single discipline from the first admission procedures to the excellent nursing staff was given with cheerfulness, expertise, thoughtfulness and respect. It was wholly a 5 Star treatment from every possible department.   I am very grateful and the whole experience has completely restored my faith in our wonderful health service.

Dear Freddie F

Coming into hospital when you have been waiting for planned surgery is equally stressful to an emergency admission especially when you have been discomfort.

The NHS does operates under pressure, however I am glad that your experience in the BGH was so positive. We have an amazing team of staff who are dedicated to providing the best care for our local community and I am glad that this was the experience you had.

I hope that are recovering well from your knee surgery and that your discomfort has reduced.

With all best wishes for a Happy New Year

Sarah

I am so glad to hear that your recent stay in ward 9 was a positive experience and that it has changed your opinion of the NHS. We do strive to make it allay peoples's fears and anxieties as much as possible in what we know can be a very anxiou time for people.

We really do appreciate you taking the time to give this feedback, which I will share with our team.

I hope you are now recovering well from your knee replacement and have enjoyed the festive period.

With best wishes
