"Too many pasta dishes"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Trauma & Orthopaedics (Wards 1 & 5)

(as a volunteer/advocate),

Ward 5

The doctors are very nice, they have explained my care to me and are excellent.

It takes a long time for the buzzer to be answered some times the nurses seem to be so busy.

The food is terrible too many pasta dishes and it is not very varied so I only take the soups.

Someone is in every day to clean the room.

The porters are so comical.

The nurses are very caring when they are moving me about.

I don’t like it when they are in the middle of dealing with me and they are taken away to do something else I would like them to finish dealing with me and then move on.

I don’t like being left to the afternoon before I get a wash.

Dear UHH186,

Thank you for your recent post on Patient Care Opinion. I am delighted you are recovering well.

The staff in the Ward strive to deliver the best person centred care, however this can be challenging at times when the Ward is very busy.

I will certainly pass on your comments to all the staff, including the catering staff.

I terms of the food, we continuously review the menu we give to patients and try to ensure variation.

Hope you are recovering well.

Thank you

Kind Regards

Karen
