"Nurses Attentive to my needs"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiology

(as a volunteer/advocate),

Ward 9

Nurses very attentive to my needs. When he arrived he was quite ill and nurses spent a lot of time attending to him and reassuring him.  He's getting to know all the nurses as they stop for a chat when time allows. Seen a doctor every second day. He found one doctor difficult to understand when the doctor was explaining what would be happening to him. Medication has to be requested when he requires it.  He had to explain that aspirin was not helpful to him and medication was changed quickly afterward. He was advised that he should request mediation before he was in too much pain.

The patient’s family has found his care and support to be good and are able to communicate with nurses and doctors at a time suitable to them.

Patient has care package in place for home but does not know when. Doctors explained that more healing requires to take place before home.

No improvements, happy with the way the ward is run.

Dear Uhh182

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. The staff within Ward 9 will be delighted to see your comments. I am glad you have found the Nurses attentive and that the consultants have been able to see you and your family regularly.

I hope you have healed enough to get home soon.

Best Wishes

Angela
