"Experiencing a communication breakdown"

About: New Cross Hospital

I attended the emergency eye department on Wednesday 4th December at the request of my doctor who said that he thought my retina's were becoming detached. After waiting 3 hours I was told to go home as it wasn't an emergency, I was given an appointment for 7/12/19 but this was cancelled, saying I would be contacted on 9/12/19 to re-arrange. To date this has not happened.

I have tried to contact the hospital several times, when I was able to get to speak to someone, I was not able to get a positive reply from anyone except one lady suggesting I see my doctor again.

Seem to be going round in circles not getting anywhere. Help !

Thank you very much for taking the time to post comments regarding your recent patient experience.

I am sorry for any distress this matter has caused. To enable us to look further into your concerns, I would be grateful if you could contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01902 695362 or rwh-tr.PALS@nhs.net who can assist further.

Kindest Regards
