"Not for people who are self funded"

About: Winterbourne Hospital

I asked from the beginning to have each test costed as we proceeded as I am self funded. The response was to ask me for my credit card details which I gave reception. The consultant recommended tests to be done promptly. In the event I did not receive costings before procedures. I was then billed twice for one procedure. A kindly person in administration then offered to sort out the billing and stopped payments from my card. It was a very worrying experience. The consultations themselves lasted no more than 5 minutes max. Hardly time to take a history! Altogether it seemed like an insurance led conveyor belt and not the tailor made service I expected to be paying for. The shorter waiting times and free tea and coffee did not make up for the worry caused by the carelessness of accounts and reception and the haste of the consultant.
