I developed a black spot on my lip. I have a skin condition and a drug regime which means I get worried about skin cancer. I asked what to do on Ask my GP after hours one evening which is provided as a service by my Practice at Lower Clapton Road London E5. They rang me the next day. I saw an advanced nurse practitioner the same evening (I work). I was examined, reassured that it was not cancer (! ), got a follow up done with my dermatologist and got a repeat prescription for all my medications done in about 15 minutes.
How did I feel? Wonderful and grateful.
What could have been better? Nothing.
The most amazing thing about all this? It is typical of the care I get from them - efficient, kind, patient centred and thoughtful
THANK GOODNESS FOR THE NHS AND ITS STAFF
