"Learning to deal with negative thinking"

About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as a service user),

I thought negative thoughts for a major part of my life. I really thought they were a part of my personality and it was just the way I am and how I will always be.

When I was referred to inclusion Thurrock , I was only expecting minor consultation to help me deal with current thoughts of depression and to prevent me from harming myself. However , I found that my therapist Anne, was much more interested in finding out where the origin of the problems originated and help to understand me better as a person. After every visit I walked away feeling like I gained a new skill, found out that how I have felt previously for so long doesn't mean that I have to spend my whole life thinking these negative thoughts. It really helped me deal with thoughts that would send me on a spiral of self pity and self hatred. Instead I have learned how to deal with these thoughts when they arise in my head.

After so many sessions I feel like I'm definitely more prepared to face the difficulties of life in the upcoming future because I've learned of how to help myself.

I' am very thankful to Inclusion Thurrock for the warm and welcoming environment and care they provided for me.

Manage the team of therapists, and do some therapy myself.

Dear Tauree,

I'm so pleased to hear that you had such a positive experience in therapy; it's always nice when what we get exceeds our expectations!

It sounds like you've done some hard work and are now seeing the benefits of that change. Well done!

That's the good thing about therapy - it's not about the therapist fixing your problems, it's about learning how to do things for yourself in a more effective and helpful way. It empowers you to take control of your own life!

We are so happy that we were able to help you on your journey!

Best wishes for the future,

Mark
