"Unfriendly reception staff"

About: Bramblys Grange Medical Practice

I am not one to usually post reviews about anything as I do not like to spread negative vibes. However, the practice leave me no choice as yet again I have had an extremely uncomfortable and down right rude experience with one of the receptionist team. I have heard how rude she can be with other patients who have either had difficulty hearing her and she patronisingly repeats herself again, leaving the patients agitated or upset. This particular occasion I had been visiting the practice but unfortunately due to a busy morning at the surgery, the car park was full. I phoned well in advance to inform the staff that I would be running a few minutes late as I'm waiting for a space downstairs in the car park. Which all was recorded and written down. Then as I finally make it upstairs to the surgery I wait in line to book in at the desk (because I was late I wouldn't be able to check in on the computer system). I asked to check in as I was running late and the receptionist glanced over and stared at the computer system, not saying a word to me, indicating to use the screen. I told her again, that I was running late and she simply said. "you need to tell us if you're going to be late" to which I camly responded "I did call up about 10 mins ago to inform you" and she very bluntly asked for my name and then said "next" to just get rid of me. I suffer hugely with anxiety and her attitude and down right bluntness tipped me over the edge that morning. As soon as I sat down in the chair I burst into tears and patient's around me could see and hear what had happened. As I said before, this is not the first altercation I have had with the reception team at Bramblys Grange and its now getting to a point where I'm hesitating to even go to the doctors as I dread having unnecessary stress from the reception staff. It doesn't make the surgery look professional or welcoming by having staff like this at the front of house. I am currently looking to move surgery which is an awful shame as the doctors are usually very helpful and professional.
