"System overloaded and ongoing issues"

About: Livewell South West

Daughter went to CAMHS and review was she just needed purposeful support so referred to youth service. This helped but longer term mental health issues worsened. Currently waiting for intervention support. Hospital for general review referred her in August, September over dose Outreach involved which moved referral back 6 weeks. Told that it would be up to 12 weeks to be seen, then 18 weeks. School and GP letters sent. Follow up call and told it had been reviewed and with intervention team and could take up to 4 months. Never told this before and through telephone conversations led to believe the 12 weeks was how long it would take to see someone. School do not have the facilities/resources to deal with the issue until they have something from CAMHS in the way of a support plan. So the start to the GCSE years has been totally affected as she is at home for the foreseeable future. Feel totally let down and misled by the system and those giving out the information. She could be dead or severely disfigured if we are not able to prevent self-harming. I still feel guilty just for finding her when she took her overdose. Possibly a system issue and resources are under extreme pressure but some honesty and accurate time scales and stages of the process should have been given from the start not just ad hoc every time I call them.
