"My cardiac event."

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Accident & Emergency Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Cardiology (Heart Conditions) Wards 6c & 6d Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Critical Care Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Xrays and Scans

(as a service user),

Heart attack, ccu, and cardiac rehab. September 2019 presented with chest pain. Saw the best of our NHS, casualty staff brilliant, got settled as a boarder in HDU for a few hours, then into CCU. All staff are fabulous. Over to GJ for angiogram. Now attending Cardiac Rehab twice a week. I would urge anyone to attend these  classes, not only for the physical benefits but emotional benefit too. Also the staff there can answer your questions regarding your condition and there is input from dieticians too. Cannot praise this department enough. After a cardiac event you can be left feeling afraid, emotional,  and sometimes angry. I am well on road to recovery thanks to our NHS.

Hello SD63,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. I’m sorry to hear about your heart attack, I can imagine it must have been a scary time for you but I’m so glad that you had a positive experience of our services and that you are now well on the road to recovery.

I will make sure to pass your lovely feedback on to the departments mentioned in your post, I’m sure they will be delighted to hear it!

I hope you continue to have a good recovery!

Best wishes,
