Got took to hospital after working my shift with pretty bad chest pain not knowing I was having a heart attack.
I work nightshift as an order picker for a distribution warehouse and struggled to sleep the morning before and thought it was really bad indigestion, went to work and was drinking gaviscon but felt like someone was sitting on my chest. Managed to get through my shift and luckily my mate said at 6am when we finished I'll take you to the hospital and I weren't going to bother but he pestered me and luckily he did as after taking blood at a and e they said I was having a heart attack.
Monklands were brilliant on the heart ward and went to and from hairmyres as well, but I really want to say a special thanks to linda, chd lead nurse from orchard medical centre motherwell for the after care she gave me after I was discharged, all the medication I had to take and being signed off work for two months I was a bit worried to be honest, but linda was great to talk to and had to change my medication a bit to suit my needs, she seen me every week or every other week near the end of my time off work and my blood pressure and cholesterol is looking good and I've been back to work for 2 months now on a phased return but doing my old job of a lot of lifting and feeling fine. So long may it continue🙂.
Thanks,
"Heart attack"
