"Really disappointed"

About: The James Cook University Hospital

I left a review earlier this year praising one of the wards we sadly lost a family member and the care was superb. This time however the experience was very different. Our relative was left with medication on many occassions unsupervised. When asked for anything the staff constantly promised to carry out the tasks but never came back. When new medication was prescribed they waited 3 days for it. Trying to ring the ward was impossible. I know how busy the staff are but I fear for other people who do not have the family our relative has .Sorry but this was sadly a poor experience for us.

Good afternoon

Thank you for leaving comments on the NHS Choices Website for the South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

I am very sorry for your relative’s recent experience as an inpatient on one of the wards at The James Cook University Hospital.

As you do not mention a specific ward, I am afraid it is not possible to allocate this concern to the appropriate area. Please contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01642 854807 with further information so that we can share your concerns with relevant staff. PALS is available Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm excluding bank holidays. When Officers are dealing with other enquirers, you may reach the voicemail. Under these circumstances, please leave a message with your name and contact telephone number and an indication on the most convenient time to ring you back.

Thank you again for contacting the Trust.

Kind regards
