"Awful Experience"

About: Chase Farm Hospital

I couldn't get an emergency appointment with my GP so they advised me to go the walk-in. It was so crowded that many people were standing and the wait was about 200 minutes. I appreciate this is the nature of a walk-in and there's nothing that can be done however, the nurses were honestly unbelievably blunt and rude. I know they are extremely busy and under a lot of pressure but they barely let me say two words before cutting across me and would not let me explain my symptoms properly. One even said, "I don't really get why you're here." I am somebody who very rarely goes to the doctor despite paying taxes for many years and it just made a bad situation worse. The atmosphere in general was just super negative. I would honestly rather suffer at home than go to this walk-in ever again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment regarding your recent experience. I am sorry to read about the attitude of the nurses you describe.

I will share your comments with the staff in charge of the urgent care centre, so that staff can learn from them.

With best wishes, Patient Experience Team
