"Safe and Sound"

About: Royal United Hospital

I slipped in my son's garden whilst clearing leaves. I attended Chippenham 'walk in' centre which I was clearly not able to do! They directed me to Royal United Hospital Bath. X-rays revealed a fracture of my femur and 10 year old knee replacement joint. After being made comfortable for the night the surgeon visited next morning at 10.30 and promised me I would be in theatre within the hour. Post operative care in Forrester Brown Ward was great, I felt safe and cared for and yet encouraged to get moving. This was a geriatric Ward and to see and feel the care and understanding of the nursing staff for the patients, some having the added complications of dementia was reassuring. The feeling of team work from arriving at A&E to being helped to the car five days later was impressive. Thank you does not seem enough!

We thank you for your comments about your recent care at the RUH and will forward these on to staff who, we are sure, will be very grateful for your kind words.
