"appreciative of friendly staff"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / General Medicine (Wards 9-12)

(as a volunteer/advocate),

Ward 13

Nursing staff very easy to talk to and very friendly. Patient very appreciative of friendly staff. This makes a big difference to his morale while in hospital. Buzzers answered quickly and staff spend time caring for patient when required. Doesn’t feel as though he is being rushed.

Medication arrives on time. Patient has had his condition explained to him by the doctors and involved in discussions re his care and he also had explained to him the road ahead. Family happy with care and has found it easy to speak to nurses and doctors re his father’s care.

The ward should continue with the very good bedside care provided by the nurses and doctors.
