The care we received from a staff member was impeccable. My father was very ill and he went over and above to make sure he was comfortable and had the appropriate treatment. Unfortunately, the Emergency clerk who checked us in, did not update my fathers Dr.information. So the incorrect Dr.is on his file, even though she was given the information upon check in. Also, incorrect medical history was documented on my fathers chart, we were visiting from Canada, so this has made a rather challenging situation to remedy. My father was transferred to City Hospital, to the Respiratory ward, and then Southwell Ward where the situation did not improve. My father was treated as though he had dementia, and they didn't take the time to read the card he provided that clearly states his medical condition which is APHASIA, meaning the absence of words..The staff would not let my father use the phone to call me, they disregarded him, and did not treat him with kindness or patience. Sad to say, he is fearful of going back to City hospital if he needs in the future, as they have incorrect medical history and staff that didn't take the time to understand my father.
