I just wanted to say a huge thank you for my care we received when my young baby was brought into hospital with bronchiolitis. We arrived via Ambulance and had a very short wait before being handed over. The staff took us to majors but explained (and it was clear) it was very busy. I was given a seat and helped with my bags, soon after offered a cup of tea and also a clean pillow to help rest my baby in my arms. I was also offered a side room when I was breastfeeding which was appreciated. We were moved across to see a GP as we were advised this was the best pathway. I noticed the signage in Majors and GP out of hours clearly explained what area we were in and the care we were going to recieve - this was useful. The GP saw us quickly and directed us to the ward to be admitted. Some friendly volunteers also pointed me in the right direction. We were admitted to Ward 16 and my baby was monitored and various nurses and doctors advised what was happening and why. Everyone was very kind and had an excellent manner with the children. There is an information book for parents but I didn't notice this as the outside cover is blank - perhaps this needs a label outside. Parents dont seem to be provided food but as I was alone and breastfeeding I was given a hot meal. I was provided hot drinks and although there was a bit of waiting around we were seen by a doctor and discharged with clear advice on what to do next. The whole process was without fault and the staff should be commended for their excellent service.
"Excellent Care"
