The detail of care and diligence of the young team working on Saturday 30.11 between 8-12 am was outstanding. I had difficulties breathing and had passed out, I was very reluctant to visit hospital and waste the emergency teams time but felt vulnerable and my partner insisted on taking me. From the moment I got there, the lady on reception, my initial assessment, the nurses who looked after me and the excellent young male doctor who was extremely diligent in making sure that I had nothing sinister. The quality and expertise of the team was very high but the care and emotional intelligence of the team in reading and reacting to how I was feeling was exceptional. I could hear how they were doing the same with all the patients even whilst being verbally abused by a patient struggling with drug addiction and this is exhausting stuff to keep going with.
I am lucky that I haven’t had to use the NHS very much in my life but I have always championed the importance and benefit to all. I am proud to pay taxes to fund the NHS and if needed tax us all more so that the teams working in this vital area are paid well and have the environment and all the tools they need to look after us when we need it most. Thank you all.
