"Lack of equipment"

About: University Hospital Monklands / General Medicine (Wards 2,10,12 and 17)

(as the patient),

Shocked to the core about lack of equipment on ward 2.   One stand aid for the full ward to use.   Having to wait sometime if two people need the toilet at the same time, the toilet is far too small for a grown adult.   The staff are run off their feet due to not enough on the ward.   I can't thank them enough but I would not come to Monklands again.

Dear pagerhp43

Many thanks for you posting on Care Opinion. I am sorry to her about your experience in Ward 2 in particular relating to lack of equipment. We have the ability to borrow equipment from the ward next door if required as storage of excessive equipment can be problematic too. I will certainly meet with the Senior Charge Nurse and review this as a matter of urgency as staff have never raised this as a concern.

Ward 2 generally run with their full compliment of staff however again I will review this with the Senor Charge Nurse.

Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention and myself and the Senior Charge Nurse will meet next week to discuss your concerns.

Kind regards

Eileen
