Not always easy to get GP appointment especially with your own GP.
At present my husband (with terminal cancer) will not attend the services our hospice offer. But I know I can contact them at any time.
As well as cancer (mesothelioma) my husband has both a urostomy bag and a colostomy bag with a very large hernia on colostomy. Frequently the prescription for his needs is incorrect when it arrives, despite several phone calls about this problem, which makes a bad situation much worse. He can do very little now so obviously frustrating for him, especially as my own health is not good.
Thats why I find a day once a month at Oakhaven a chance to relax and recharge my batteries. I need to stay fit and well to care for him. We thought that our lovely district nurses would come to see us but apparently not, despite asking a doctor for another referral, we were told at his final radiotherapy he can have no more.
My husband enjoys cooking so has taken over doing that. He sleeps a lot of the time in his comfy recliner chair.
