I am currently 5 months pregnant. As someone who has always suffered from anxiety, I was really hoping to be able to tour the maternity ward and the MLU prior to my due date, just to know what to expect on the big day. Even simple things such as knowing exactly where to report to when I'm in labour without having to wander around the corridors looking for the right room would help put my mind at ease. But I was told by my midwife that this hospital doesn't allow it. She said that there is a virtual tour online I can look at instead. After searching long and hard I found the link for this on Facebook, but it's an old link and it doesn't work.
I am not writing this as a complaint, as I have not experienced any bad treatment from the hospital so far (I have attended my 2 pregnancy scans there, both were good experiences). It's more of a suggestion for improvement. If for some reason it's not possible to allow for tours of the ward, then perhaps an updated virtual tour would be a good compromise to help people like me.
