"Grateful for the service you deliver"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I was admitted to Wishaw Emergency Department by ambulance with my first ever episode of acute shortness of breath. I have never been there before but it was obvious all treatment areas were full and the department busy. However, every one was calm, polite and working hard. I was seen by a male nurse and a locum doctor and during my time in the department the assessment, investigations and treatment were all undertaken timeously. Unfortunately I am unable to recall the names of the staff who saw me except a cheerful healthcare assistant on to the night duty shift (Dave) who took my cannula out. I myself worked for over 40 years as a healthcare professional and know you get abuse and complaints from some service users. But a majority of people like myself are just grateful for the service you deliver. Thank you

Dear Grateful but prefer not to return,

Many thanks for taking the time to post your experience on care opinion during your visit to the emergency department.

The staff will delighted to read your very kind words and that the care provided was person centred and timeous.

I will ensure the staff that you have mentioned are informed of your positive feedback.

I hope this finds you feeling better and recovering well.

Best wishes

Andy
