Firstly I was greeted with a lovely man who did by obs and then the nicest woman ever who made me feel at ease right from the beginning. She was a recovery nurse named Jackie (I think) who was working in the endoscopy unit for the day. She could not be chattier to which I really appreciated, as she was calming my nerves. She made sure I was sorted and even seen me when I came back out from having the procedure done.
Before I went in for the scope a lovely man named josh (I think he was a trainee- not sure tho) explained everything clearly and made sure I was aware of what was happening. During the procedure there was a man who held my hand and made sure I was ok and his bedside manner was spot on- he chatted away and explained what was happening, as well as joking, making me feel at ease! I wish I caught his name but would defiantly love it if someone could let him know how well he’s doing.
Josh and ms Sharma were lovely. Ms Sharma was very nice, especially at the end explaining the results and giving me advice for the future.
Overall, my experience in the endoscopy unit at the Monklands was nothing but a pleasure. From arriving, being quite anxious, to leaving the department, every single staff member were a credit to the hospital and the NHS as a whole, an absolutely delightful experience. Thanks again.
