"Pelvic Floor Muscles Check"

About: Borders General Hospital / Physiotherapy

(as a service user),

I was a bit concerned that I wasn't doing my pelvic floor exercises properly. Following my third pregnancy, I wanted to make sure that everything was working properly to help prevent problems in the future.

I got a referral and saw a physio called Alison. She was lovely and made me feel comfortable for what was going to be a very personal form of testing. She maintained my dignity throughout and acted professionally at all times.

I was given advice and a set of exercises to do, which she got me to do at the appointment so I would feel confident that I was indeed doing them correctly.

I have had no issues since then and feel certain that my pelvic floor is improving day by day as I do the exercises.

It's so important to feel comfortable in these types of settings and I felt just that. Thank you, Alison!

Hello

Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your experience of being seen and treated by a member of physio team.

I will speak directly to Alison to ensure she is aware of your positive feedback. I know she will be delighted to hear about your response and the progress you continue to make.

Kind regards
