" Very unhappy"

About: The Medical Centre

I had a telephone call from a receptionist to say a go would telephone me later that day to discuss my 95 year old mother's blood test results. However I did not get that phone call, so I telephoned the surgery to be told the gp would definitely be contacting me, I had no phone call. I telephoned the next day to complain & was told the gp would phone me that afternoon around 3pm. Well when it got to 4pm & still no phone call I phoned the surgery again & the receptionist tried to put me through to the gp but her phone was engaged, she said she would send the gp a message. By 5.30pm still no phone call, so I called again & was told the gp was sent a message. Eventually at 7.15pm the gp did eventually phone me to discuss the blood test results.

The next day I had a phone call from a receptionist to say the gp would like a telephone consultation with me to discuss my mother's blood test results, I explained that I had already had that call the day before & I was told that the gp hadn't even updated my mother's notes. So what was the point in even having that telephone consultation if it hadn't even been documented?

Also I took my mother to Specsavers a couple of days ago to have a hearing test as she was struggling to hear, they said she needed her ears syringing before they could do a hearing test. I phoned the surgery to book an appointment with a nurse to get this done, only to be told we don't do it anymore. If she has to have it done privately it will cost £60 which is disgusting for a pensioner of 95 years old. I work at a gp surgery & they do ear syringing there, so why does your surgery not do this simple procedure?

We are sorry that you experienced problems with the Practice and we are aware that patients do not want to hear about the pressure that GP surgeries are under but they keep on building huge new developments without supporting local surgeries with the increased demand. This also applies to services that we used to supply for free on the nhs.
