"My visit to the Emergency Department."

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I was taken I'll in the middle of the night and decided to call 111 for advice. The staff there were extremely helpful and advised that I attended ED. From arrival to discharge I was treated with the utmost respect and courtesy. The nurses were very helpful, kind and explained the process to me clearly. Although I had to wait a fairly long time to be seen by a doctor you could clearly see and hear that they were very busy and rushed off there feet. I was seen by Dr Richardson who was very helpful and had me treated and on my way home with a treatment plan within the hour.

Can't thank everyone enough

Dear SteveB1357

Thank you for your kind feedback about the service you received from both 111 and our Emergency Department. It is always nice to hear stories from our patients especially when the experience is positive.

We are pleased to hear you found the Dr’s and nurses to be so helpful, caring and efficient in carrying out their duties even when, as you witnessed, they are experiencing a very busy period over the winter months. We are sorry to hear this meant you had to wait longer before being seen but thank you for your understanding.

We will forward your comments to the department Matron to share with the rest of her team.

Regards

Patient Experience Team
