"ED after calling 111"

About: Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

After calling 111 I was referred to Witney Minor Injuries Unit. A Nurse Practitioner visited my home at approx 12MN. I received a thorough examination for upper abdominal pain radiating through to my back. She advised an ambulance to ED to rule out gastric/aortic problems. Got to ED at 0145 hrs and was advised to sit in waiting area (majors) after triage. I sat for 3hrs, not even being approached by a member of ED Staff. The helpful paramedics did inform me that there was a fairly long wait. At 04.50hrs I approached one of the nursing team to ascertain why and how much longer I would waiting to be seen, only to be TOLD after viewing the bed board I had in fact NOT been booked in. No apology, but can you please take a seat in the waiting room. At 5am (3hrs10mins later) I walked out of ED absolutely disgusted, was speechless and extremely annoyed.
