I had need to visit Warwick A&E. The staff were not particularly friendly or engaging. They did not keep me up to date with progress of my case.
However the most disturbing element of the department was how scruffy and unkempt most of the staff were.
Is there nobody in charge there? Jeans, dirty trainers, old cardigans below the elbow, unkempt hair. Terrible.
During the day a cleaning sign was knocked over by one of the staff. Did they pick it up? No. Did any of the other members of staff pick it up? No.
They all just stepped over it. Chatting and laughing by it, a potential trip hazard. Nobody cares, that is the problem
No pride in themselves or what they are doing.
Two days later I went to the Alexandra in Redditch. What a difference. All staff in neat, clean, tidy uniforms. Smiles and genuine welcomes. Staff that obviously care how they are perceived and it show in the quality of care I received.
Someone at Warwick needs to have a good look at the appallingly low staff standards.
"A&E staff are very scruffy"
